Media Solitude
During the pandemic, even though my family was permanently reunited at my maternal grandmother's house, the atmosphere in the place always turned quiet. Starting all this I came to believe that with the confinement we would share more with my whole family, especially with my grandmother due to her Alzheimer's disease. However, with the passage of time, the focus of our eyes turned to digital media. Since my grandmother has never had her own cell phone, she was relegated to her own solitude. The rest of us were immersing ourselves in a solitary bubble produced by our electronic devices.
Distance relationship / Relación a distancia

My mother has been in a long-distance relationship with her husband for the past 10 years. He lives in Piendamó (Cauca), 580 km from Bogotá (Colombia), where she lives. My uncle and the empty chair / Mi tío y la silla vacía
2020
My uncle is a single man. For the last ten years he has been closing himself off more and more in his life. Always, when he comes home from work, he sits in the living room chair to see photos and videos of places that he has always wanted to go to see in the world with someone, however, his routine does not allow him to. has allowed. He has always wanted to meet someone with whom he would fall in love. He has been single for years waiting for that person to arrive. He has filled that void with hundreds of movies, videos and images that he searches and watches on his cell phone every day.
My friend and the cactus / Mi amigo y el cáctus
2020
When my ex-partner, now my best friend, visits me at my grandmother's house, he focuses on his social media. Her body accompanies us, her mind is in another part of the planet.

The grandson in the bathroom / El nieto en el baño
2020
I have realized that electronic devices rule life more and more. When I was a child I used to go to the bathroom and have a little fun making up stories while doing my business. Today the cell phone has absorbed my attention to such a degree that I can't stop using it, even if it's to do my biological needs. I feel that most of the intimate activities in which we come into contact with our own body have been gradually displaced by interaction with digital screens. We no longer explore our own bodies, we explore the idea of a virtual and immaterial body.
